A melanoma specialist, Dr. Alexander Eggermont is the current president of the European Academy of Cancer Sciences and is past president of the European CanCer Organisation (ECCO) and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). He is also a past member of the board of directors for the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Eggermont was a professor of surgical oncology at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and is the author or coauthor of more than 600 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and monographs.
